Minimal Phone 2 spec sheet reveals a MediaTek processor, 90Hz display, and faster wired charging

After showing us what the Minimal Phone 2 looks like in a teaser video, the Minimal Company has now shared the full spec sheet of the upcoming phone. The details were uploaded on the Kickstarter page where the project is being crowdfunded.
Minimal Phone 2 specifications - lots of upgrades
The Minimal Phone 2 ditches the 3.5-inch E Ink display of the Minimal Phone 1 for a 3.92-inch OLED display with a 1080 x 1240 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Dimensity 8300 processor that is paired with 8GB of RAM.
It will be available in 256GB and 512GB storage options. There's no microSD card slot, so you can't add more storage. There's a founders edition that has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, but it will be available during the Kickstarter campaign only.
The upcoming smartphone has also gotten a camera upgrade. Gone is the 16MP rear camera of the first gen model, and in its place is a 50MP f/1.8 camera. The front facing camera has also been upgraded to a 20MP sensor from the 8MP sensor on the Minimal Phone 1.
The Minimal Phone 2 has Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual SIM (one physical SIM + eSIM), an audio jack, dual speakers, and dual microphones. There's a USB 3.2 Type-C port which has Display port support and USB-C audio. It also has a notification LED that can be customized for each app and a programmable switch at the top, which by default can be used to instantly disable cellular network and location.
The battery capacity is still the same as that of its predecessor at 3,000mAh despite being smaller, but charges faster at 27W and retains support for 15W Qi wireless charging. The Minimal Phone 2 measures 122.6 × 72 × 9.48 mm compared to its predecessor which measures 144 × 79 × 8.6 mm.
The Minimal Phone 2 ships with Minimal OS built on top of Android. It borrows features from BlackBerry smartphones such as the Hub akin to the BlackBerry Hub, which serves as a place to view messages, calls, reminders, and emails without needing to open individual apps.
In addition, Minimal has added features that allow users to reduce phone usage such as Focus Hours and a daily screen-time limit. What's even more interesting is that it allows for bootloader unlocking, so users can install a custom ROM when support for the device ends.
Minimal Phone 2 pricing and availability
The Minimal Phone 2 will be available in Onyx (black) and Pearl (off white), while the Founder's Edition comes in Ember, which is an orange with a matte finish, similar to the color of the Rabbit R1. Pricing for the Minimal Phone 2 on Kickstarter starts at $599 for the 256GB version and goes up to $675 for the 512GB version. The Founder's Edition with 12GB of RAM is priced at $899. Shipping is expected to begin in December 2026.
The phone will ship with a USB-C cable and SIM tool by default, but those who back it on Kickstarter will get a protective case, 3 screen protectors (matte, privacy, and clear), a 27W charger, and a special packaging. As at the time of writing, the Minimal Phone 2 has surpassed its $100,000 goal, with 29 days left. It has already received over $690,000 from 1086 backers.
