The new budget devices cover a range of specs and prices

Along with the launch of the Yoga Tablet 10 HD+, Lenovo announced three new budget smartphones – the S860, the S850, and the S660.

The S860 features a 5.3-inch HD (1280 x 720) display, a 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, Android 4.2, 802.11n wifi, Bluetooth 3.0, an 8 MP back-facing camera, a 1.5 MP front-facing camera, and a huge 4000 mAh battery. The battery is the key feature here as the phone can be used to recharge other devices (cable included).

The S850 has a 5-inch HD display and similar internals to the 860, though it drops down to 1 GB of RAM and a 2000 mAh battery. The standout features on this model are the cameras which are upgraded to 13 MP and 5 MP shooters.

Finally the S660 is the cheapest model of the series. It features a 4.7-inch 960 x 540 display, a MediaTek MT6582m processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, an 8 MP back-facing camera, and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera, but adds a 3000 mAh removable battery and a microSD slot (up to 32 GB cards).

The S860, S850, and S660 are expected to rollout to “select markets” starting in June, and will also be available on www.lenovo.com. Prices start at US$349, US$269, and US$229 respectively.
