Lenovo Legion 7i-81YU0035SB
The latest addition to the Lenovo family is the Lenovo Legion 7i-81YU0035SB. While the words “slim” and “lightweight” do not normally apply to gaming laptops, Lenovo has decided to try it out with the new Legion Slim 7i. With a weight of 3.9 pounds and a thickness of 18 mm, Lenovo says this model is the lightest 15.6-inch notebook available that can be configured with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX2060 Max-Q graphics chip. In terms of its design, the model carries a central aluminium chassis which provides decent rigidity. However, despite a couple of plastic additions, there is definitely a little flex. As for the lid, it can be opened with one hand and extended to a full 180 degrees.
On the other hand, the RGB lighting which has been implemented by Lenovo in partnership with Corsair iCue, looks surprisingly good with the ambient light strip on the underside and illuminated rear vents. In terms of its performance, the Legion 7i has been equipped with the 16-thread Intel Core i7-10875H CPU along with 16GB of dual-channel DDR4 memory. There is also a 1TB Samsung PM981a M.2 SSD along with Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q graphics. The absence of a 2.5-inch HDD slot can be quite a drawback, but it has made room for a larger 80Wh battery. The battery definitely supports the gaming ability of the laptop.
As far as the display is concerned, the model comes with three choices: a Full-HD 15.6-inch IPS display with a 300-nit 144Hz panel and 5ms response time; a 500-nit 144Hz panel with 3ms response time; a 500-nit 240Hz panel with 1ms response time. All three tout 100 per cent Adobe sRGB coverage, while the latter duo also boasts DisplayHDR 400 certification. It should, however, be noted that there is no touchscreen option. Again, this might be a drawback for some users, depending on their needs. Apart from that, Lenovo has obviously taken advantage of its ThinkPad heritage with its well-shaped keys. The keys are clean in presentation and satisfying in terms of both action and sound. It is absolutely an enjoyable keyboard to use, although gamers might prefer a little more travel than 1.3mm, and the full-size layout may prove divisive. Lenovo has definitely kept the arrow keys in good size.
In addition, what might at first seem like a large speaker grille above the Slim 7i’s keyboard, is actually used for air intake. This laptop uses Lenovo’s ColdFront 2.0 cooling system, the same one found in the Legion Y740Si, but the company says it can pull in 31 percent more air in this new machine. That is definitely impressive, especially since Lenovo claims that the fans will never get loud. This is obviously great news for users, as it creates a premium experience. Thus, this lightweight device has its own plus points, but carries some drawbacks to.

The Lenovo Legion 7 is a great gaming laptop that excels at the basics, with a top-notch performance and gorgeous Full HD display with Dolby Vision support. But it arguably lacks a killer feature to justify the comparatively expensive price point, with better value offered by Asus and HP machines.

I have given you ample reasons that, kind of, justify the Rs 2 lakh pricing on the Lenovo Legion 7i laptop. You are getting the top-class hardware, a nerdy design, and salient features that will elevate your gaming experience on the Legion 7i. And beyond gamers, the laptop is suited for creators who want help professionally. But Rs 1,99,990 is a hefty price tag.

Priced at £2,200 when outfitted with a Core i7-10875H and GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q, the laptop undercuts most 15.6in competitors while remaining a cut above in terms of presentation and build quality.
