Kindle Fire pre-orders reach just under 100k

Teaser
Research shows that around 95,000 Kindle Fire tablets have already been pre-ordered

Amazon’s much awaited Kindle Fire tablet was only announced last week and won't be shipping till mid-November, but early evidence is already pointing to the device being a huge success for Amazon.

In addition to being one of Amazon’s best-sellers since launch, market research firm eDataSource, revealed that close to 100,000 Kindle Fires were pre-ordered on its first day of availability. The data was garnered by monitoring around 800,000 inboxes for purchase receipts, and estimates point to 95,000 or so Kindle Fires already reserved.

Even though the number is definitely staggering, it still doesn’t manage to surpass Apple’s iPad which garnered 350,000 sales upon its first day on the market back in 2010. Of course, not everything can compare to Cupertino’s best-seller, and the early figures are definitely a good indication for Amazon.
