The AMD-based notebook could be equipped with a Fusion APU or a more powerful Phenom CPU, starting at $400

HP is releasing yet another budget notebook aimed at the business user.

Simply called the HP 635, the 15.6-inch notebook comes in a variety of AMD CPU options. Users can opt for a power efficient dual-core 1.6GHz Fusion E-350 processor with integrated Radeon HD 6310M graphics, a more powerful 2.3GHz Phenom II P360 CPU or the relatively higher end 2.6GHz Phenom P650 with Radeon HD 4250 graphics.

Otherwise, the rest of the specs for this AMD-centric notebook are quite standard. The unit includes at least 2GB of RAM, a 320GB HDD, DVD burner, HDMI, VGA, card reader, 3x USB 2.0 and a separate microphone and headphone jack. The notebook even sports a spill-resistant keyboard.

According to Laptoping, the HP 635 starts at $400 depending on configuration, but the direct HP link appears to be down as of this writing. Newegg, however, is offering the 635 with AMD Phenom II P650 for $469. This particular model is listed for a 5 hour battery life off of the included 6-cell battery.
