Expect a healthy release of tablets this year as HTC may well expand from its cell phone roots to the tablet market. Called the Flyer, the HTC newcomer will run on Google Android 2.3 with the ability to upgrade to Android 3.0 when it becomes available. This feature is important as the 3.0 update is known to be optimized for tablet support and usability. Specifications have yet to be released, but the Flyer is expected to resemble the HTC Desire in design and will be just the first in the new line of tablets from the company.
The HTC Flyer will be competing with the Apple iPad, Dell Streak, HP Slate, and many others in the growing tablet market.
