Company confirms follow-up tablet to the disappointing Flyer

HTC’s 7”, stylus-equipped Flyer tablet may not have fared too well when it hit the market last year, but that doesn’t appear to have discouraged the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer. Just 8 months after discontinuing the Flyer, HTC is now looking for ways to get back into the tablet party.

In speaking to PCAdvisor, a spokesman for HTC informed the website that a follow-up tablet to the HTC Flyer will “definitely” arrive sometime in the near future. The spokesman did not provide any sort of timeline for the device, but ensured that it is being developed by HTC and that it will have “a unique selling point”.

Earlier last month, it was revealed that HTC would not be participating in the initial wave of Windows 8 tablets, and therefore we can only guess that their next offering will run Android Jelly Bean 4.1. Unfortunately, there is no other info available about the mystery device, but we’ll be sure to have the latest updates as they roll in.
