HTC One E9 and M9 Plus leaked pics surface online
Last year, the Taiwanese manufacturer launched the HTC One E8, a cheaper version of the One M8 that retained most of the hardware specs, but packaged in a plastic body and sold at a lower price. A recent leak shows that HTC could use the same strategy this year. According to rumors, the One E9 will come with an octa-core Mediatek MT6795 chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, a 20MP primary camera, as well a pair of front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers. The HTC One E9 is expected to be priced somewhere below the $500 mark.
Alongside the One E9, HTC is also said to unveil the One M9 Plus, a larger and beefed up version of the One M9. Previous rumors suggested that the M9 Plus could have been introduced at MWC 2015 alongside the M9, but the company unveiled just one smartphone, the One M9. A leaked photo of the One M9 Plus surfaced online recently, and some consider it to be an indication that HTC is simply waiting for a better time to introduce the smartphone.
According to numerous rumors, the M9 Plus is expected to feature a QHD display, a Snapdragon 810 chip, as well as a fingerprint reader, all packaged in an aluminum unibody. Last year, there was a lot of talk about a potential "Prime" version of the One M8, but the device failed to materialize.
