HP Envy 14 Radiance displays all sold out

Teaser
High resolution displays out of stock again, no return in sight.

While HP delighted consumers a couple weeks ago by announcing the return of their High Resolution “Radiance” Displays; it seems that the screens are all sold out with no return in sight.  Customers that tried adding the 1600x900 pixels screen to their Envy 14 configurations received an error stating: “Some of your components are not available, please change them”. Later on the option to add the Radiance display was removed entirely.

To make matters worse, some costumers that had already placed orders for the Radiance display were contacted by HP and informed that their orders could not be completed and had been cancelled. However, reports indicate that HP did offer certain upgrades as compensation for the shortage in stocks.

The highly acclaimed HP Envy 14 features a wide range of processors (Up to Core i7 840QM), an ATI HD5650 and HP Beats Audio. And while the 14.5” Radiance display was one of the most sought after options, future Envy owners will have to make do with the 1366x768 Brightview screens.
