We have already been hearing of reports about Google working really hard on getting something ready on the Chrome OS front by this month (i.e. December), something which they had promised. As rumors have been suggesting, this was to be a Google-branded Chrome OS netbook. And now, there has been an announcement by Google for a media event in San Francisco this Tuesday (December 7th) to discuss something considerable relating to the Chrome OS. And as a report from Engadget would say, this very day would mark the unveiling of a Google-branded netbook running Chrome OS.
It has also been known that Google in this event would also reveal a public version of the Google Chrome OS along with the Chrome Web Store- the place for you to download web apps for the Chrome OS. Even though Google is expected to be taking the wraps off its netbook, it surely wouldn’t fall in the hands of the general public. The netbook will supposedly be made available to Google employees and their families only for evaluation in the early phases. Chrome OS hardware will be widely available by early 2011 by various manufacturers including Google itself.
