ExoPC tablet now for pre-order in the US

Teaser
The ExoPC tablet packs in good hardware and a nicer custom interface

Canada based ExoPC have already put up its tablet of the same name up for sale in its homeland. And now, it’s time for US consumers to pre-order one for them. You can book one at the Microsoft Store as it is accepting pre-orders for the tablet at $699.

This nifty piece of hardware is equipped with an 11.6-inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display and is powered by an Intel Atom N450 CPU, 64GB solid state disk, 2GB of RAM and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. What’s more, you get a custom interface to go with the OS that helps easy navigation using your fingertips. Liliputing reports that there is a major software update on the way which will arrive shortly and another in January where a custom on-screen keyboard is expected. The tablet has been found to have good build quality, a responsive screen, and a well-laid out interface. Battery life has been found to be about 3.5 hours or less of run time when tested by Liliputing.

The tablet should reach your doorsteps within a week if you pre-order now or you can get one from one of Microsoft’s retail stores within the same time period. From the looks of it, the device sounds like a good buy, although the battery life is a tad disappointing.
