While large OLED TVs are loved by almost everyone, there are always some people who may prefer the compactness of a more modestly sized television for a number of reasons. For such folks, Samsung's 48-inch S90D OLED TV might be an excellent option. Thanks to an ongoing offer on Amazon, the TV can now be purchased for its lowest price ever, at just $1,197.

But that's not all - the offer on Amazon also includes a $100 Xbox gift card, along with a 1-year protection plan from CPS. A quick check on the price tracker website Camelcamelcamel reveals that this is indeed the lowest-ever price for the 48-inch Samsung S90D OLED, and when combined with the bundle offer, the effective price for the TV comes out to be just $1,097. Free delivery along with a 30-day return policy is offered, making the experience hassle-free. 

As for picture quality and performance, the Samsung S90D OLED leaves very little room for complaint. Unlike its larger siblings, the 42- and 48-inch versions of the S90D do not feature QD-OLED panels, which offer higher brightness and punchier colors, and instead rely on WOLED panels from LG. That being said, the S90D offers all of the advantages of OLEDs, including true blacks, superb response times, and almost zero input lag.

While the S90D lacks Dolby Vision, reviews have claimed that the TV's excellent tone mapping makes up for its absence. LG's C4, which can also be found on Amazon for the same price, packs both Dolby Vision as well as DTS, and its WebOS interface is arguably superior. However, the C4 is effectively $100 more expensive since it does not include any gift cards as of right now.

Thanks to the Samsung S90D's 144 Hz refresh rate with VRR, the TV offers an excellent gaming experience that is compounded by the characteristic traits of OLEDs such as instantaneous response times and nearly zero input lag. However, those intending desktop use of the S90D OLED with lots of on-screen static elements are advised to be mindful of the biggest drawback to OLED technology - permanent panel burn-in. All in all, the Samsung S90D OLED offers a great viewing experience, now made more accessible thanks to Amazon's ongoing offer.
