The French tech company EviGroup has reportedly introduced the SmartPaddle Pro dual boot tablet in Europe. Based on an Intel chip, the maker’s latest slate PC is now available for purchase, priced at 759 (about $940).

According to the product data sheet, the new SmartPaddle Pro will come loaded with two operating systems: Windows 7 and Windows 8 Release Preview version (EviGroup claims customers will be provided with the actual Win 8 OS free of charge, once it becomes commercially available). Furthermore, the device is equipped with a Pinetrail Intel Atom N450 processor that houses one core with a frequency of 1.6GHz and               the integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics controller.

The SmartPaddle Pro is also EviGroup’s first ever tablet to sport an 11.6-inch display (instead of a 10.2-inch one). What is more, the multitouch-enabled capacitive panel has a maximum supported resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels (HD).

Underneath the hood, this slate PC features up to 2GB of 667MHz RAM and up to a 64GB solid-state drive. Other specs include 3G (via the SIM card slot), Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR radios accompanied by two USB 2.0 ports, mini-HDMI output, an SD/SDHC card reader, two integrated speakers, a 1.3MP, front-facing web camera for video conferencing and your usual array of sensors

Reportedly, EviGroup’s SmartPaddle Pro measures 13mm at its thickest point and weighs “less than 1kg” with the built-in 4800mAh battery that has an autonomy period of up to 5 hours after a single charge.
