Dragon Ball Super: Beerus English dub starts Thursday

For fans of dubbed Dragon Ball, the sometimes-expanded, usually-trimmed Dragon Ball Super: Beerus series will be available in English, Spanish, and Portugese dubs starting on Thursday, November 12th next week. This timing window lines up just days after Episode 8 of the new series airs on Sunday, November 8th this weekend, which will place the dubs roughly 7 episodes behind the English release.
While that may sound like a lot, it's actually the fastest a modern Dragon Ball series has ever been dubbed.
For comparison's sake, the original Dragon Ball Super anime ended with the Tournament of Power Arc and its 131st episode on March 28th, 2018. English dub audiences didn't see that episode until October 5th, 2019—a staggering gap of over a year. At a pace of 7 episodes for a weekly series, the sub-to-dub gap is now just under two months, which should be much healthier for Dragon Ball's international audience. Daima's gap was shorter than the original Super run, but still about three months between the Japanese end date (February 28th, 2025) and the English end date (May 16th, 2025.)
Other questions remain about new Dragon Ball content, of course. No one yet knows an official release date for the Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime meant to adapt the formerly manga-exclusive Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc, or how long the dub gap will be for that release.
Hopefully, in line with Beerus, that truly-new animated content will get a fast dubbing treatment. At this point, Dragon Ball fans worldwide have shared the long wait for new anime and manga content. So far, Beerus has largely been praised by fans for its touched-up animation, new scenes, and intelligent cuts for pacing or dramatic tension.
Hopefully, the English dub-only viewers like it too, though many dub-centered anime fans may have already dabbled in subbed anime for shonen granddaddy Dragon Ball. After all, the original airing of the Tournament of Power arc crashed Crunchyroll more than once.
