Are two always better than one? Dual-camera systems are no longer restricted to high-end smartphones - not in a year as technologically sophisticated as 2017. Now even entry-level models can boast of back cameras with two modules: enter the Shoot 1 model from the Chinese manufacturer Doogee. But is the second camera in the low-budget device really a boon? Our comprehensive review reveals the answer.

On the last page of the review, we will also discuss both pros and cons of the DOOGEE Shoot 1: first, we will begin with the firmware that seems to have added malware with the latest OTA releases. On the DOOGEE forums, the engineers have posted the DOOGEE-Shoot_1-Android6.0-20170118 firmware version, which seems that it is one of the last that was not packed with malware. If you do perform further updates, you will see after the process has been completed some messages regarding that “malware has been found and is being removed”. By scanning with 360 Security, we have found some other infected modules, but the utility was able to clean them.

The Doogee Shoot 2 is a nice looking phone. It is well built and sturdy and feels solid in my hand. It seems thicker than the Meizu phones I reviewed earlier this year, but it is not as flexible or as slim.

5.00:
It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.
