The Doogee S100 is one of the few exceptional rugged smartphones that comes with decent specs and features. Usually, the armored smartphone lacks in the camera department, but it is not the case for this phone. If you are thinking to purchase this device, we would give you the green signal right away. On the other hand, if you start looking at the downside, you will find several things. But most of those factors can be neglected if you prefer armored phones over the standard device. In case, you are looking for a standard phone, the Vivo Y56 is an alternative option.

As with all rugged phones, this has a very specific use case. It is very good at completing tasks where you would be outside, on a building site or in an otherwise dirty or dangerous environment. Dropping it in such areas, assuming you don't lose it in the process, will likely result in absolutely no damage to the device, although I do wonder how the synthetic leather on the back will hold up after prolonged use and exposure to rough environments, if it is anything like modern synthetic leather, it should actually complement its ruggedness. As I have said in previous rugged phone reviews, you can probably forget about using it as a main phone and sticking it in your Bermuda shorts or pant pockets. If you do, however, the ever-present risk of being pantsied by your own phone will haunt you. This is true even for a big guy like myself, it is proper heavy at 376 g. The User-defined key allowed me to map the Camera to it, so we can forgive the lack of a dedicated camera button in this case, and its massive battery is more than enough that anyone can ask for.

Doogee has been busy pushing out rugged smartphones like there’s no tomorrow. The S100 is the fourth in as many months (the V Max, the V30 and the S96 GT), a sign perhaps that the market is expanding in an otherwise morose macroeconomic environment. Doogee’s latest outdoor powerhouse shuns 5G connectivity while sticking to a tried and tested form factor that tends to be more practical and less about aesthetics. All the ingredients of a solid handset are here: a big battery, plenty of memory and storage, a huge camera sensor - but above all, a cracking price if you buy before March 26th.

Doogee S100 arrived with IP68/IP69K dust/water resistance and Corning Gorilla glass protection in February 2023. The tough-build smartphone equips a 6.58 inches IPS LCD display panel and has 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage support. Besides this, the Doogee S100 has a 108MP triple camera setup that can record 1440p videos including night vision lens support. On the front, you will receive a 32MP selfie camera, while the performance of the device is carried out by a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. The SoC can reach up to a 2.2GHz clocking speed and renders on the Android 12 OS support, while the absence of a custom interface makes this device free from bloatware. The Doogee S100 has a massive Li-Po 10800mAh battery and refuels through 66W fast charging and 15W fast wireless charging support. Alongside this, you can pick this device in three color options – Ice Blue, Cyber Yellow, and Classic Black. Fortunately, you also receive NFC support, FM radio, and OTG support on the Doogee S100 smartphone. The smartphone costs $365 (Rs 29,999 in India) approx. while a side-mounted fingerprint scanner is present for biometric authentication on the device. Furthermore, the device has 4G connectivity and hybrid SIM slot support.

Coming on the back of the Doogee V Max and the S100, the S100 Pro sits somewhere between these two products in its specification. Physically it's an identical size as the V Max and packs the same 22000mAh battery in that phone, but the same processor as the S100. The problem with the Helio G99 chip used in the S100 and S100 Pro is that it doesn’t support 5G, and it doesn’t offer the graphical performance of the Dimensity 1080 used in the V Max.

75.8%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
