Dell: Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 now can be obtained from the stores

The new kid on the block is nothing special – not even updated

This time Dell has made available their latest inexpensive netbook - the name is Inspiron Mini 1018. The machine has a screen size of 10.1-inch with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, with under the hood features such as the 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor unit that supports a much faster DDR3 memory module than the aging DDR2, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, 160GB of storage memory and comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 Starter Edition. Since this system is low-priced, there is no high resolution display available like the Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 and Broadcom video accelerator and other high-end features are not on offer as well.

The Inspiron Mini 1018 goes on sale in the US for $299.99, while the premium Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 had $319.99 price tag. There are two battery options for Mini 1018 – a 3-cell battery with 24Whr battery or a 6-cell one with 48Whr battery, but the Mini 1012 has the standard option available for a 6- cell, 56Whr battery.
