Teaser
The Cirago CST6000 is small and slim, as good as weighs less and promises great transfer speeds

Yet another USB 3.0 device is up for grabs- the Cirago CST6000 USB 3.0 portable HDD. As is with almost all other USB 3.0 devices out there, this one too is backward compatible with older versions of the USB ports, so it will work just fine even if you do not have a USB 3.0 port in your computer; plus the company claims peak transfer speeds of 5 Gbps. Measuring 3.25-inch x 5 1/3-inch x 0.5-inch, the CST6000 is slim and also has a size small enough to fit in your pocket. An aluminum casing helps make for a light-weight device. The device is Plug and Play supported and works with Windows, Mac, and Linux based computers to easily support sharing of your data, video, music or pictures.

The device is set to be offered at a price point ranging from $69.99 to $99.99 and in capacities of 250GB, 320GB, 500GB and 640GB. Each drive’s package also includes a USB 3.0 cable, auxiliary power cable and a carry pouch. Newegg.com and Amazon are among the few online vendors currently shipping the product to your doorstep.

USB 3.0 is the latest buzz in town and is all about speed and more speed. In fact this technology is supposed to be 10 times faster than the older USB 2.0. Although actual reviews have found a speed difference much less (about 3-4 times) than what was expected, USB 3.0 is still blazing fast. Not all portable PCs today come with USB 3.0 ports, but devices using this technology are coming out rapidly and users now have a range of USB 3.0 devices to choose from.
