Brando unveils glasses-free 3D tablet for $199

Teaser
The 8-inch Gadmei T843 carries even more options and features than the similarly priced Kindle Fire

Hong Kong company Brando will soon be offering an Android tablet at a low price, but with a distinct feature that separates itself between other Chinese budget tablet manufacturers.

The upcoming Gadmei T863 tablet will be an 8-inch device with Android Gingerbread and a 1280x768 resolution display capable of glasses-free 3D. According to Brando, the tablet will natively support an impressive list of video formats such as AVI, TS, MOV, MP4, MKV, 3DM and 3DV.

The heart of the T863, unfortunately, is only powered by a single-core 1GHz Cortex-A9 CPU with a 250MHz Mali400 GPU. RAM is also unimpressive at 512MB with an internal 8GB SSD. Still, the tablet appears to be packed with other features such as a front-facing camera, USB 2.0 port, microSD reader, stereo speakers, wireless-n and even an HDMI-out. No Bluetooth radio is mentioned.

But, for the retail price of only $199, we can’t have too high of an expectation for the spec list. Color us intrigued by the glasses-free 3D, although we suspect that more 3D-enabled tablets may be making a showing at Las Vegas for CES. Definitely check out the Gadmei product page here for a full description of the device.
