Although it was expected to arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 on board, the Bluboo D1 is now up for pre-order as the cheapest Android handset with a dual camera setup and features low-end features overall.
Codrut Nistor,

Bluboo has been around for a while, but this company's latest creation seems to be the best deal possible in the low-end sector of the market. Although the processor and memory might not be able to target more picky customers, having a fingerprint reader and a dual camera setup in the sub-$100 USD price range is quite an achievement.

Bluboo D1 has a metal unibody design, a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, microSD support up to 256 GB, a 5-inch HD display, a fast fingerprint reader on the back (0.1 seconds read time), as well as an 8 MP + 2 MP rear camera setup. To add something extra, Bluboo also placed a light bar at the bottom of the D1 to display various notifications.

The pre-sale period ends in less than two weeks, the first units being expected to ship on May 8. The regular price of the Bluboo D1 is expected to be $79.99 USD, but those interested can get it right now for $10 USD less.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
