If you want to drive a piece of German electric efficiency, BMW is making the i5 eDrive40 more affordable to lease in the US with a hefty lease credit.
BMW is slashing $9,900 off the electric sedan’s lease costs in a 36-month deal running until September 30. When combined with a suggested $3,500 dealer contribution and a $4,225 capitalized cost reduction, monthly payments could drop to as low as $499 per month.
Lessees can retain the i5 eDrive40 at the end of the contract by triggering the $34,963 purchase option.
The lease deal is available through participating BMW Centers in the US, excluding Puerto Rico. BMW states that some qualified applicants will not be required to pay a security deposit.
BMW will also allow this lease deal to be combined with certain incentive programs, including the BMW Loyalty Credit for former owners or lessees (within the last 12 months), provided they qualify through BMW Financial Services.
The single-motor rear-wheel-drive BMW i5 eDrive40 generates 335 hp and achieves a 0 to 60 mph time of 5.7 seconds. The 84.3 kWh battery promises up to 295 miles of driving between charges and adds up to 100 miles in about 11 minutes on a fast DC charger.
Other key features include a 12.3-inch and 14.9-inch BMW Curved Display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, Harman Kardon Premium Sound System, and a 17.3 cu-ft cargo space.
The BMW i5 eDrive40 starts at $67,100.
