Are WebOS developers moving to Google?

Teaser
Is HP’s loss going to be Android’s gain?

Last time when Hewlett –Packard Comp. went through a major loss, many people thought they might never recover from it. Their major project webOS was doomed and failed miserably. Though their fans did not lose heart and because of their enthusiasm towards TouchPad clearance sale webOS even for a short period of time climbed to second place in tablet sales.

HP  built a core group called the “Enyo” team. The name “Enyo” came from an open source version of the Javascript framework used in webOS. The members of this core group had to walk out of the project as HP decided to open source webOS and move out of the mobile market for the time being.

This bunch of developers did not go anywhere but Google Inc. (GOOG). As google is the manufacturer of the world’s largest used Smartphone operating system, that is Android. This seemed to be an easy choice for them as many members of the Android team belong to Palm. HP brought together webOS and the webOS team from palm. Even Matias Duarte Android’s designer in chief is an ex-Palm veteran.

It is known that HP has lost about 27,000 workers that is 8 percent of the work force.
