The latest that is up from the Toshiba group is their all new 10-inch Toshiba Folio 100 tablet. The Folio 100 tablet has already started shipping in Europe, and is expected soon in the United States most probably somewhere in the first month of the next quarter although there is no official confirmation on the same.
Specifications
Some of the specs of the Toshiba Folio 100 tablet include processing capabilities powered by a dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, along with 16GB of storage, and an SD card slot for expansion. Also there is provision of support for HD video playback and 3D graphics acceleration. Display wise also it scores pretty well owing to the presence of a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive touchscreen display that also offers support for up to 4 touch inputs.
Connectivity is ensured by the presence of 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, and optional 3G. Other features include HDMI output, USB client and host capability. Also the 10-inch Toshiba Folio 100 tablet promises battery life of upto an average of 7 hours owing to its 22.6 Whr battery.
Software wise however the Toshiba Folio 100 tablet disappoints as it ships without access to the Android market. However the company has bundled along its own Toshiba-branded market with the tablet, which is obviously no match for what the Google Android Market is up for.
Pricing
The new 10-inch Toshiba Folio 100 tablet is priced competitively within a range of 399 and 499 Euros which would be about $568 to $710 US.
