Tesla offers 0% APR financing deal for the Cybertruck making it cheaper to buy with FSD than without

Tesla is trying new ways to liven up its delivery numbers before the critical Q2 sales report. After playing around with various APR financing schemes for the Model Y and Model 3, it's now time to turn attention to the Cybertruck electric pickup.

After the 1.99% Model Y APR financing, and the zero APR rate for the Model 3, Tesla has introduced a 0% APR deal for the Cybertruck as well, as long as it is purchased with the Full Self-Driving option in the package.

In fact, Tesla's electric pickup fans can now finance the Cybertruck cheaper when they get it with the Full Self-Driving option at 0% APR than without and at the usual 5.54% interest rate.

Coupled with the gratis FSD transfer that Tesla has turned from an intermittent promo to a nearly codified permanent offer, this Cybertruck deal sounds even more enticing.

The free FSD promo will run until June 30th, strongly indicating that it is meant to pad the Cybertruck sales numbers for the end of the quarter.

Promotional rates valid for well-qualified buyers with excellent credit who order a new Cybertruck with Full Self-Driving (supervised) option on or after June 5, 2025 and take delivery by June 30, 2025, with a minimum down payment of 4% plus applicable taxes and fees. If you qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit, this amount can be used towards your down payment.

As usual, used Cybertrucks from Tesla's inventory aren't eligible for the free FSD promo, and neither are enterprise sales. The 0% APR financing deal is valid only for the 36-month, 48-month, and 5-year payment plans, too, starting the cheapest Cybertruck Long Range RWD version from $992 in monthly payments.

After a promising start, Tesla's Cybertruck sales didn't turn out as planned. Its first electric pickup had more than two million preorder reservations logged before Tesla announced the launch pricing of $100,000 and above.

Granted, that was for the Foundation Series edition that came with free FSD and other goodies, but even the cheapest RWD Cybertruck is now way over the initial pricing that Elon Musk teased when he announced that Tesla is working on an inaugural electric pickup project.

It took a little over a year for the oddly shaped Cybertruck to go from being in severe shortage and resold for tens of thousands over its MSRP, to being one of the vehicles with the fastest depreciation out there.

The Cybertruck lost 37% of its value in the first full year of ownership, and has been piling on factory parking lots, with its design an acquired taste for many. The 0% APR financing deal is thus a win-win for Tesla, as not only could it spur Cybertruck demand, but also increase the number of vehicles with FSD on the road.

Tesla needs as many of those as possible to perfect its self-driving algorithms that will be on full display after its robotaxi platform unveiling on June 12 that will launch with a pilot fleet of Model Y units running unsupervised FSD.
