Avalon Hill has quickly become a powerful arm of Hasbro, bringing exciting new board games to the table while simultaneously reviving cult-classics like HeroQuest and Talisman. Talisman is a magical quest board game that is best described as “D&D Light”. Typically, players go around a board collecting weapons, armor, and other items to try to claim an ancient crown and fulfill a prophecy.
With the most recent expansion, Talisman Alliances: Fate Beckons, players were tasked with teaming up to defeat a BBEG (big bad evil guy), with five total trials available to play through.
Now Avalon Hill is flipping the script with the newly announced Talisman Nemesis: Call of the Hunt. This upcoming Talisman expansion will put players in a 1-v-all adventure, with most of the table teaming up to defeat their overpowered friend. The name of this expansion is apt, as the gameplay will likely be very similar to other semi-cooperative games, such as Nemesis, another popular tabletop RPG.
While Hasbro and Avalon Hill provided few other details, players can rest assured that they will be able to get their hands on Talisman Nemesis: Call of the Hunt on November 1, 2025 at their local game store or Amazon. Plus, the game will be available to test at GenCon this summer, along with Avalon Hill’s other upcoming games, like Sanibel, a new board game from the creator of Wingspan. In fact, Avalon Hill promised to release a complete run-down of the new Talisman expansion when they open pre-orders on the first day of GenCon, July 31st.
In the meantime, players can catch up with Talisman either in person or on Steam, with Talisman Alliances: Fate Beckons getting a digital release on June 18, 2025.
