In a move to attract new users in the US, Starlink has launched a new promotional offer that massively discounts the prices of its satellite internet dish and Residential service plans.
The latest deal drops the price of the Starlink Standard dish to $89 from the usual $349. On top of that, the company is slashing the regular Residential service plan by 50%, lowering it to $59 per month from $120. The Residential Lite plan, which delivers unlimited but deprioritized data, also sees its monthly price drop from $80 to $49 in select locations. The offer is only valid for new subscribers during their first year of service, and Starlink notes that the exact “terms and duration are subject to change”.
Starlink also warns that users may lose their promotional pricing if they decide to change their plan (i.e., switch to Standby Mode or Roam) or cancel their service during this period. For new Residential subscribers, this represents $732 in yearly savings and up to $992 in total savings when factoring in the dish discount.
Only available where Starlink has excess network capacity
As always, Starlink doesn't make it super clear which locations are eligible for the new deal. We dug around and found the offer to be live in the following US states:
$59 Residential plan / $49 Residential Lite
- Iowa
- Nevada
- North Dakota
- South Dakota
- Kansas
- Idaho
- Wyoming
- Nebraska
- New Mexico
In other locations, Starlink is offering the Residential plan for $85 per month instead, with only a few showing the Lite plan alongside.
$85 Residential plan / $59 Residential Lite
- San Francisco
- Boston (Lite available)
- Worcester (Lite available)
- Chicago
- New Hampshire
- Montana
- Parts of Alaska
This isn't an exhaustive list, mind you; if you don't see your region listed here, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re out of luck. Head to starlink.com/residential and look up your service address to see if you're eligible for the promo.
While Starlink routinely runs discounts on hardware, its internet plans have rarely seen the same treatment. That changed in August when the company massively discounted monthly plans for the first time. And this latest promo is by far the most aggressive pricing we’ve seen for the Standard Kit and Residential plans in the US.
