Other than the previously leaked i9-13900HX and i7-13700HX, the upcoming Raptor Lake-HX mobile processor lineup would also include the i7-13650HX as well as the i5-13500HX and i5-13450HX. Apparently, only the i9 and i5 models bring meaningful upgrades compared to the existing Alder Lake-HX models, and DDR5-5600 support is reserved for the higher end models.

Intel hinted that the mobile lineup of Raptor Lake CPUs is scheduled to launch by the end of 2022 and the top-of-the-line HX models could be included too, seeing that specs for an i9-13900HX, as well as an i7-13700HX already leaked out. It looks like Intel is to maintain a full HX stack for the Raptor Lake generation, as Twitter tipster OneRaichu recently chimed in with a list of upcoming Raptor Lake-HX models and some additional platform info including overclocking options.

Besides the i9-13900HX and i7-13700HX models, OneRaichu mentions an i7-13650HX with 6 performance cores plus 8 efficiency cores running at max 4.9 GHz, along with two i5 models including the 13500HX sporting the same core configuration clocked at max 4.7 GHz and an 13450HX integrating 6 P cores but just 4 E cores clocked at max 4.6 GHz.

Videocardz points out that only the i9 and i5 Raptor Lake models appear to be the only actual upgrades over the Alder Lake models since they include more cores and a frequency bump, but the naming scheme is clearly not a 1-to-1 correspondence, probably suggesting that Intel could include even more models with the 13th gen HX lineup.

Another upgrade that seems to be targeting only specific 13th gen Raptor Lake-HX models is the support for the faster DDR5-5600 RAM specs. OneRaichu is a bit vague here and mentions that some SKUs (probably the lower-end) still only support DDR5-4800. However, the entire lineup should also retain compatibility with DDR4-3200. Furthermore, overclocking will include specific options for DRAM, frequency, ring and PL, so there is quite a bit of fine tuning headroom.

With the addition of more cores and higher clocks, it will be interesting to see if Intel can keep the same power envelopes of max 157 W from Alder Lake. These are already pretty beefy figures for a mobile platform, but Intel is known to crank things up in order to gain the higher ground. Razer’s rumored reintroduction of the 18-inch chassis for improved cooling systems could be a telling sign.
