Samsung Gear Fit Pro might launch soon

Samsung Gear Fit 2 activity tracker to get a successor soon

Those who do not find the Gear Fit 2 or the Gear S2/Gear S3 suitable for their health/fitness tracking needs might soon get a new smart wearable from Samsung that offers such features, allegedly named Gear Fit Pro.

Samsung Gear Fit Pro is, apparently, a new smart wearable still under development. While nothing is official yet, Samsung has just filed a trademark application with the European Agency For Intellectual Property for the name, but the technical details or features are nowhere to be found at this stage.

Three years ago, Samsung announced the Simband health platform for cloud-sourced fitness tracking, also showing the Simband smart wearable. This device had a set of sensors that enabled it to measure various parameters, including temperature, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and more. The Simband did not make it to the market so far, but now the Gear Fit Pro could bring at least some of its features to the masses.

Sadly, all we have for now is the trademark application mentioned earlier. Since Samsung already offers advanced fitness tracking capabilities with the Gear Fit 2 and the Gear series smartwatches, the Gear Fit Pro might launch as a device that fits between these two.
