At this point, the smartwatch space has no shortage of affordable Android-powered options. Rollme, which already has a lot of contenders in this space, is adding a new watch to its lineup - the Hero C2. Priced at $89.99, it arrives with a 1.95-inch 720×720 AMOLED display, 4G SIM support, and a 9MP retractable rotating camera that pivots 190 degrees.
On paper, the camera is the Hero C2’s standout feature. It works as both a front-facing lens for face unlock, selfies, and calls, and a rear shooter for photos, video, and QR scanning. The design is clever, but rotating camera mechanisms usually have long-term durability issues - especially on budget devices.
Performance is handled by a multi-core processor with "ample memory" (Rollme doesn’t disclose exact RAM or storage), running Android with Google Play access. You can run apps directly on the watch, either tethered via Bluetooth or completely standalone using the nano SIM slot. Built-in GPS, a speaker, and a mic should be enough for calls and navigation without a phone nearby.
Health tracking covers heart rate, SpO₂, sleep, and multiple sport modes. IP67 water resistance should take care of rain and splashes. The 1800mAh battery claims up to 15 days standby in Bluetooth mode - real-world use with 4G active will likely be far shorter.
The Hero C2 has a refined metal body, and is available in Obsidian Black or Shiny Silver. However, the watch’s 24mm-plus thickness and large footprint may still feel chunky on smaller wrists.
At under $90, the Hero C2’s value pitch is pretty strong - especially for those who want a standalone Android watch with a camera, 4G connectivity, and GPS. However, it's very likely that compromises in water resistance, unknown hardware specs, and the moving camera assembly could be the trade-offs behind that aggressive pricing.
