Promo video shows an upcoming Android notebook from HP

Teaser
The SlateBook 14 looks to combine productivity with media consumption.

The SlateBook 14 hasn’t been officially announced yet, but HP seems to have jumped the gun and posted a promotional video on its website.

The new SlateBook certainly isn’t the first notebook to run Android, though it looks to be a more evolved and bigger device than many we’ve seen. The inclusion of a Full HD touchscreen and Beats Audio go a long way towards making it a good media consumption device, while the full keyboard (with dedicated Android keys) and generous connectivity options should offer a level of productivity that simply isn’t possible on a tablet.

Key features include:

·         An unspecified NVIDIA quad-core processor

·         2 GB of RAM

·         16 GB of internal storage

·         A full sized HDMI port

·         3 USB ports

·         Full access to the Google Play store

·         802.11 b/g/n wifi

Price and availability have not yet been announced, and we’re still missing some crucial details such as the version of Android the notebook will run and its battery life. Still, the SlateBook 14 already looks like it could provide an interesting alternative to the HP Chromebook 14 if the price is low enough, particularly for those already invested in the Android ecosystem.
