Starting Tuesday, September 9, Porsche drivers will be able to plug into any of Tesla’s 23,500 Superchargers across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This opens up more convenient charging options besides the other charging networks they already use.
According to the update released on their website, the transition to this new charging method will be implemented in phases, starting with a soft launch stage. Customers of the German brand will need Porsche-supplied NACS DC adapters. Porsche also stated that drivers will initially use Tesla's app to charge. However, plans are underway to integrate the Porsche app in the coming months, making charging more seamless. Users will simply plug in their cars, and payment activation will occur automatically.
All 2026 Taycan and 2026 Macan Electric models will ship with the adapter at no additional cost. Current 2025 Taycan owners and all Macan Electric owners are eligible for a complimentary adapter and should watch for a notification on their Porsche app to receive it. Meanwhile, the adapter will be available to older Porsche EVs at $185 online or at their local Porsche retail store.
Other charging networks, such as Ionna or Electrify America, are still accessible from the Porsche app. The luxury car brand is also upgrading its car navigation and charging software to include the nearest Tesla chargers and other compatible stations.
