Pixel Qi has officially made public that it has a 7-inch screen for tablets under development at the moment to empower e-readers, samples of which will be available by this December. The company also clarified that mass production of the technology, which is still under development, will begin only by next year, and as of now, in all likelihood, the first quarter. Pixel Qi has also completed the first tranche of its Series B funding, according to announcements by the Company.
Speaking on behalf of Pixel Qi, Ms. Mary Lou Jespen sought to give certain clarifications about the several delays that tablets using their displays have encountered in the recent past. She attributed this to fully exploited usage of factory capacity and stringent supply, not to forget the iPad. But the good news is that the time lost wasn’t wasted and efficiently utilised by their customers to refine their in-house designs into output which are gadgets well different from the iPad, thereby carving out a niche in this highly competitive sphere. Mary also adds that new products using Pixel Qi displays will be announced in the near future. We can very well suppose that considering the various advantages Pixel Qi screens have over others there will be a lot of takers coming in.
