Picture leaks of purported ASRock X300 Renoir refresh with AMD Ryzen 4000 APU
Tipster @momomo_us leaked what appears to be a picture of ASRock’s upcoming X300 DeskMini small form-factor PC, said to sport Renoir AMD Ryzen 4000 APUs. This would make ASRock’s DeskMini X300 one of the first small form-factor on the market with AMD’s new Ryzen 4000 series APUs.
Last month, we covered a performance leak for the purported ASRock V2000 mini-PC, sporting a 15W Ryzen 5 4600U. The DeskMini X300 is a step up, both in terms of size and capabilities. According to ITHome, the ASRock DeskMini X300 will feature a B500 series motherboard from ASRock, capable of supporting Ryzen 4000 APUs as well aS the PCIe 4.0 standard.
This would be a major step up from the A300 DeskMini, which leverages an entry-level AMD A300 chipset. Apart from supporting PCIe 4.0 and faster SSD storage, a B500 series chipset could mean faster RAM on the ASRock DeskMini X300.
It’ll be interesting to see how ASRock prices the X300. The current A300, in barebones form, costs as little as US$150 and top-end configurations come to less than US$500. A quad or hexa-core Ryzen 4000 option with Vega graphics would offer workstation users plenty of bang for buck.
