We recently reported on the Skyrover X1, and now a new model has emerged: the Skyrover S1. It is listed on Amazon, but not yet available. Skyrover S1 appears to be a direct challenger to DJI's mini drones, capable of high resolution 4K video at 60 frames per second. The manufacturer speaks of professional image quality, but whether the actual quality of the image content created by the 1/2-inch Sony sensor is suitable for professional purposes such as advertising photography will of course have to be proven in tests and reviews. This may take at a little while in view of its current unavailability on Amazon.
A runtime of up to 40 minutes per battery is specified. Users wanting a longer flight time can purchase a bundle consisting of three batteries (not yet available). The Skyrover S1 supports smart modes for recording people, so users can be tracked. If a certain activity needs to be recorded, such as jogging in the countryside or surfing at the beach, this should be a useful function, provided that the tracking works correctly. The camera is mounted on a gimbal, which is intended to ensure images with less visible vibrations. The weight is stated as less than 250 grams, thus under the legal limit of recreational drone flying in many countries. More details about the Skyrover S1 can be found here.
