New Anker 45W charger with display and unusual pins launches

The Anker Nano Safe Charge Smart Charger (45W Max) (machine translated) has launched in China. This new accessory has been teased on social media for the last week or so, with its specifications now revealed in full.

Anker’s new Nano Smart Charger has a single USB-C output, offering up to 45W (5V=3A/9V=3A/15V=3A/20V=2.25A) power. The brand indicates that this should allow you to charge an iPhone 17 to 50% in 20 minutes. It is said to be able to identify the iPhone 17 series in one second and adjust the charging output accordingly. Plus, users can activate a protective charging mode, which the company claims will reduce battery health degradation by 20%. This could be particularly useful when charging your phone overnight.

On the front of the Anker 45W charger is a display, showing power and temperature information in real-time. Plus, there is double folding pin technology, meaning you can position the screen at 90° or 180° while charging, to suit your needs. This GaN accessory has ActiveShield 5.0 technology, which frequently monitors its temperature.  While designed for the iPhone 17 series, it is compatible with a wide range of devices, including the iPhone 8 onwards, the Xiaomi 13, the iPad Pro and the Nintendo Switch. 

The design of the Nano Safe Charge Smart Charger mimics the iPhone, with rounded corners, and it is available in four colors matching the new range: white, orange, black and blue. It measures 34 x 35.5 x 40 mm (~1.3 x 1.4 x 1.6 inches) and weighs 60 g (~2.1 oz).

In China, the Anker Nano Safe Charge Smart Charger (45W Max) retails for CNY 179 (~$25). It is unclear when a version of this accessory could be released in other countries; rumors indicate that a similar, but not identical, product for the US market is on the way.
