If you happen to live in Japan and fancy a new Full HD 15.6-inch portable PC, then you might want to check out Mouse Computer’s latest LuvBook K802B notebook. Targeted towards multimedia aficionados and casual gamers, this laptop is now available to Japanese customers; price starts at 74,970 yen (or approximately $935).
According to the maker, the K802B packs a second generation (Sandy Bridge) Intel Core i7-2670QM central processing unit that houses four cores clocked at 2.2GHz-3.1GHz and the integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics controller. In addition, the new LuvBook is equipped with a 15.6-inch Glossy LCD widescreen display which delivers a native resolution of 1920-by-1080 pixels (Full HD).
The manufacturer claims that the notebook will ship with NVIDIA’s Optimus technology for automatically switching between the above mentioned integrated video card and the discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M GPU (1-2GB VRAM). Moreover, users will supposedly be provided with 8GB of internal DDR3 memory, a 500GB mechanical HDD and an optional Blu-ray optical drive (the base configuration offers a pre-installed DVD Burner).
Other features include Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0+HS adapters accompanied by an HDMI output, USB 3.0 connectivity, a multi-in-1 memory card slot, a fingerprint reader for enhanced security and a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system.
