Capcom is committed to focusing on 'fixing' the latest release of one of its most profitable franchises after a large number of PC gamers left adverse feedback over performance issues on the platform.

Capcom has addressed the ongoing performance issues with Monster Hunter Wilds and outlined a roadmap for the PC version. Game Director Yuya Tokuda stated that the development team is committed to rolling out performance improvements during winter 2025 and beyond.

In a detailed Director’s Letter posted on August 12, 2025, Tokuda came forward and acknowledged the PC player base’s concerns regarding performance issues. Tokuda stated:

“The entire development team is carefully reviewing your feedback and working hard to implement improvements and adjustments. We apologize for the time some improvements may take, but we are committed to delivering a more enjoyable and satisfying gaming experience, so we greatly appreciate your patience.”

Title Update 2, released on June 30, 2025, offered a few performance fixes for shader compilation issues and reportedly reduced the processing load from anti-cheat issues by almost 90%. The update also added support for DLSS 4 and FSR 4 to boost frame rates and improve texture load times. Title Update 3 is scheduled for a late September release date and will improve textures for NPCs and Seikret mounts.

Tokuda further elaborated on the hurdles of optimizations for Monster Hunter Wilds, stating:

“In general, increasing the native frame rate will also increase CPU usage. Players should adjust their graphics options to limit the frame rate per their hardware specifications.

We are aware that some players may be concerned about the potential strain on their PCs, particularly those using CPUs known to have stability issues, due to prolonged high CPU usage during extended play sessions. On the other hand, as making changes to CPU processing could affect the game’s overall performance, we plan to proceed with caution.”

CPU load reduction and further optimizations for Monster Hunter Wilds are planned for Title Update 4, which is slated to release between November 2025 and January 2026, with Tokuda further highlighting:

“In regard to CPU load, we plan to address this issue in the fourth title update scheduled for this winter. Once the initial implementation is complete, we will proceed with a second stage of further mitigation issues.”

Monster Hunter Wilds Version 1.021 update released on August 13, 2025, focuses on endgame content, weapon balancing, but offers no major performance optimizations aside from minor bug fixes.
