MSI has officially entered the electric vehicle charging market with its EV Life and EV Life Plus chargers, starting at $449 with a five-year warranty. The gaming hardware giant leverages decades of performance computing expertise to deliver enterprise-grade EV charging solutions at breakthrough prices.

MSI has officially entered the EV charging market with the launch of two new smart chargers that could reshape the home charging market. The company's EV Life and EV Life Plus models deliver professional-grade charging capabilities starting at just $449, which undercuts established competitors by a large margin.

"The EV market doesn't need more of the same. It needs smarter, more resilient solutions at price points that accelerate adoption," said Engin Yoruk, MSI's North America Product Manager of EVSE.

The EV Life model centers around MSI's aConnect app, providing scheduling, current adjustment, and charging history tracking from anywhere. The premium EV Life Plus elevates the experience with RFID authentication, dual Wi-Fi, and Ethernet connectivity. Plus, it comes with the OCPP 1.6J protocol support, which is typically reserved for commercial installations.

Both chargers provide up to 14.4 kW (60A) and work with both Type 1 (SAE J1772) and Tesla’s NACS standard. The timing is key, as major automakers like Ford, GM, Honda, and BMW will adopt NACS in 2025, and Tesla already has over 15,000 Supercharger stalls ready for these vehicles.

Further, MSI’s EV chargers are built tough with IP55/IP67 water and dust resistance, IK08 impact protection, and reliable operation from -40°F to 131°F. They can be installed either hardwired or with a plug-and-play NEMA 14-50 connection for garages.

Priced at $449 with a five-year warranty, MSI undercuts rivals in a market where home chargers usually cost $400–$700. The EV Life and EV Life Plus chargers are available immediately through Amazon and MSI's direct store.
