The MSI GX660-053US is a budget-friendly gaming notebook priced under $1,300 at many retailers. Although the processor and resolution are below average for the cost, the GX660-053US boasts an advanced ATI HD 5870 graphics card for enhanced gaming that makes up for it. If you are adhering to a strict budget, the MSI GX660-053US is a decent buy for playing the latest games.

We were less thrilled with the much-touted Dynaudio speaker setup, which puts very visible, oversized speakers on both corners of the base. They're nothing to write home about. In fact, it would have been nice if they'd been even louder, so as to drown out the jet-engineclass fan that's installed to cool the dang thing.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870:
High-end DirectX 11 graphics card based on a desktop HD5770. Models with GDDR5 are ideal but there may be a bottleneck due to the 128 Bit memory bus.
With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.
