Lenovo has identified a key market segment, and the V330 is a good effort to tap it. Consumer laptops often cut too many corners and expect users to make too many compromises, especially at the low end. With this model, Lenovo is acknowledging the existence of users outside of large corporations who just want to get work done.

With the population of the business laptop market increasing faster than that of India, the Lenovo V330 had to perform really well to catch the eye. Although this didn’t really happen, there are some areas, in which it performed better than the competition. Speaking of which, we put the AMD – equipped version of Acer Swift 3 (SF315-41) as one of its main rivals. It’s interesting to confront the best low-voltage solution by Intel with its AMD counterpart.

Ultrabay reloaded. The 15.6-incher from Lenovo features a Kaby Lake processor, an SSD, and 8 GB of (dual-channel) RAM. Windows 10 Pro serves as the OS. The battery life fails to impress. However, you can put a secondary battery inside the device.

The Lenovo V330 looks very attractive on paper and less wonderful close-up. With some minor tweaks, this could be a great machine, as the underpinning technology inside is first class.

Lenovo's V330 value laptop has minor appeal for office and SOHO users thanks to a comfy keyboard and deep connectivity, but its poky feel and mediocre screen dampen the deal.

Lenovo might have gone for a pretty boring and slightly flimsy design here, but the specs of the V330 are shockingly good. You get a decent processor and other core specs including the unlikely addition of a Radeon graphics card. This is an unapologetically no-frills work machine but is let down by a poor screen and short battery life.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2, 24 EUs) found on some Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU models (15 W ULV series). Technically identical to the previous Kaby-Lake GPU called HD Graphics 620.
AMD Radeon 530: Entry class dedicated graphics card with 320 or 384 shaders (depending on the used chip) and DDR3 or GDDR5 graphics memory (both with a 64 Bit bus). Both chips are used for a few years, e.g. even starting with the Radeon 8590M (28nm GCN).
AMD Vega 8: Integrated graphics card of the Ryzen APUs based on the Vega architecture with 8 CUs (= 512 shaders) and a clock of up to 1100 MHz.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

68.93%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
