The good: Conservative (yet not boring) design; strong application performance; useful set of ports and connections. The bad: Display is not wide-screen; short battery life. The bottom line: Fujitsu's business-oriented thin-and-light LifeBook S2210 offers plenty of features and strong performance, but its standard-aspect display isn't for everyone. Worse, its battery life fell below our expectations.

80%Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook S2110 laptop Review
Source: Pocket Lint
Fujitsu Siemens may not be the first company you think of when deciding on an ultraportable notebook but in recent months, the company has stepped up its game and released a number of interesting machines. The styling of the S2110 plays into the sombre black and grey of most Fujitsu Siemens machines but with an overall weight of 1.9kg, it’s light enough to carry with you without being a burden. With a powerful processor and a great battery life, this is a lightweight notebook at a great price. There are a couple of tricks missing with this notebook, such as the low-resolution screen and entry-level graphics, which stop it just short of a Hot Product rating. However, in every other respect this is a powerful and highly portable notebook, which we found a pleasure to use.

Fujitsu-Siemens - LifeBook S2110 review
Source: IT Reviews
The key feature of the Fujitsu-Siemens LifeBook S2110 is the AMD Turion processor, because this is the first professional Fujitsu-Siemens laptop to use AMD hardware. That may sound like a significant breakthrough for AMD, but the Amilo A series has used Turion for some time now, and you could buy an S2110 under the Fujitsu brand in the US before Christmas, but all good things come to those who wait. A professional laptop is all about mobile working so the 1.9kg weight is important, as it makes the S2110 highly portable.

ATI Radeon Xpress 200M: ATI Radeon Xpress 200M is an onboard integrated graphic solution, a derivate of the ATI Mobility Radeon X300 with PCI-E. Sometimes it is called an integrated Radeon X200. It is part of the weakest third of mobile video cards and can only be used for older games. It is sufficient without problems for office applications and for surfing.

AMD Turion 64: AMD Turion 64 is a derivate of the Athlon 64, contains an integrated memory controller for PC3200 memory and a mode for low current consumption. The ML variants need 35 Watts and the MT variants 25 Watts energy. The Turion 64 is comparable with Pentium M regarding the speed.

MT-37:

13.3": This is a frequent and the biggest display format for sub-notebooks.
The advantage is, that the subnotebook can be small dimensioned and can be carried easily. Further the tiny display has the advantage, that it needs few current, which improves the battery runtime and in consequence the mobility. The disadvantage is that the reading of texts is very exhausting vor the eyes. High resolutions can hardly be used.
>> To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

1.6 kg: This sub-notebook weights less than the average of all notebooks and represent a medium class of weight among the sub-notebooks. 11 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.

Fujitsu-Siemens: FSC is one of the mayor international manufacturers with especially high market shares in Germany. In the German speaking countries many notebook-models of FSC are reviewed. Only few of these tested laptops achieve top positions according total rating and price/value rating.
