Steam has expanded its ever-growing collection of free games once again. This time, only a handful of these newly spotted freebies come with a decent player rating, and all of them were released between early and mid-August 2025.

The free games library on Steam sees new additions every now and then. Most of these freebies go unnoticed, but a good number of newly released $0 titles get good player reception right after launch. For example, among all the freshly spotted ones, these are the titles that have a decent player rating:

  • Artifact Seekers 1 - launched on August 18, it's a puzzle game that's said to have unique puzzles. This freebie currently has a "Mostly Positive" player rating that's based on 25 reviews.
  • Straif - a fast-paced platforming shooter that launched on August 12. It currently features the "Mostly Positive" rating with 18 reviews.
  • Stomach - described as a first-person survival horror that comes with PS1-inspired visuals. It became available on Steam on August 15, and currently sports a "Very Positive" player rating.
  • Lucid Clowder - an early-access title with fast-paced action and a heavy emphasis on movement. This free game launched on Steam on August 15, and currently boasts a "Positive" rating.
  • DashFire - a fast-paced arena-style shooter that also puts a heavy emphasis on movement. It launched on Steam as a free game on August 11 and currently sports a "Very Positive" player rating.
  • The Wind and the Wisp - a 3D adventure game with a unique microphone input that lets players blow the in-game character away by blowing into the mic. This free game became available on Steam on August 11, has proper controller support, and currently sports a "Positive" rating.
  • GuraQuest - said to be a 2D platformer that lets players jump and dash through hand-crafted levels. It launched on August 14 and currently sports a "Positive" rating that's based on 31 reviews.
