Entourage: Entourage Pocket Edge on the way to Verizon

Teaser
The Pocket Edge models by Entourage with Wi-Fi and 3G enabled will be available by October

Entourage and Verizon have teamed up to develop a dual-display device to read eBooks, surfing the web and with various Android apps running on it. The Entourage Pocket Edge is a part of the program where the EDGE tablet is the original concept behind the development and has been on the news for the last one year. There are two options available on both the EDGE Tablet:  the original dual-screen tablet has a 9.7-inch E Ink screen and a 10.1-inch color LCD, while the Pocket Edge has a 6-inch E Ink touch-screen and a 7-inch LCD touchscreen.

Both the screens are connected by a thick hinge with a shiny silver coat. There are the hotkeys for both the screens – situated besides their respective displays. I can see a few ports below the E Ink but can’t exactly tell what those are - apart from the power out and one USB port.

The guys from The Digital Reader have informed that the new device by Entourage has got a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and the camera is integrated on E Ink side. The Central Processing Unit is from Marvel but the processor is on the slower side and has only one USB port.

There are two models on offer by Entourage – one with Wi-Fi and the other one will be available with 3G. The 3G model is the one on which the Verizon’s network will be available. Both the Pocket Edge models should be available in the market by late October.
