The configuration is based on a 1.7GHz Intel Core i3-4010U processor with 4GB of RAM (can be expanded since there is one free memory slot), integrated Intel 4400 graphics and a hybrid solution when it comes to storage space: a combination of a standard 500GB SATA hard drive and a 32GB SSD providing decent results for office use. In addition to Gigabit LAN port, there are WiFi (dual-band) and Bluetooth adapters, when it comes to communication. The rechargeable battery offers approximately 4.5hrs of average work, which is not impressive time, but falls into the average of what can be expected in this case. This is very good when it comes to basic laptop configuration of the Vostro 5470 series, where only a few things: touch screen, optional 32GB SSD, 2.1 sound system, deviate from the average.
Positive: Good build quality; good performance; decent autonomy; good touch screen; 32GB of SSD; 2.1 sound system.

Model:
It is hard to believe that high performance in lightweight designs is possible, but that is exactly what the Dell Vostro 5470 achieves. This 14 inch notebook/ultrabook aims at professionals and business centric users, and manages to focus on the essentials and minimize bloatware. Thanks to its slim body with a height of 18.3 mm, this ultrabook is very easy to store and carry around. The portability is further enhanced by its 1.62 kg weight. It comes in two colors, dark silver and maroon.
The hardware includes a third generation Intel Core i3 or i5 processor, which can clock up to 2.6 GHz, as well as 4 GB DDR3L RAM. Users can switch between the integrated HD 4000 graphics card or an Nvidia GT740M GeForce card with 2 GB DDR3 memory. The 14 inch HD has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and allows basic gaming. Users can also choose between a standard or ultrabook configuration and between Windows 8.0 or Linux Ubuntu as operating system. If you opt for an ultrabook setup, a 32 GB SSD is added to the standard 500 GB hard drive.
The 3 cell battery offers up to 5 hours of unplugged usage, which is impressive for a device this size. Overall, the versatility of options is definitely its main selling point.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M: Mid-range graphics card of the GeForce GT 700M series. Based on the Kepler architecture and manufactured by TSMC in a 28nm process.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
