Core Business. Productively focusing on your work is to be made possible with a Latitude E6520. In review: The basic version with an i5-2410M CPU, incorporated graphics and HD display. You can find out why "Very Good" was missed slightly in this review.

Dell’s Latitude E6520 is a solid, all-around laptop for corporates. It’s far from sexy and some might even say the orange stripe around the keypad is goofy. But this isn’t a machine designed to compete with an Apple MacBook Pro. This is a machine designed to be part of a corporate laptop pool that sits effortlessly on a Windows network and runs typical Windows applications with ease.

Despite a smaller than desired mousepad and the decision to stick with a hybrid style keyboard it is hard to find things we would change on the Latitude E6520. It is great to see a 1080P anti-glare display available as a $130 upgrade for users who need loads of screen real estate while working on the go. While not as sexy as the ThinkPad X1 or as affordable as the Latitude E5420, the E6520 delivers in all the ways a business class notebook should.

The bigger your company, the more important it is to choose the right laptops for your employees. This laptop offers great enterprise-management features, strong performance, a rugged build, and excellent battery life. Given its price and size, it's best for executives with healthy budgets and little need to travel with it.

Overall, the Latitude E6520 ticks all the right boxes for a corporate laptop, with ample performance, a comprehensive set of connectivity options, plus a decent screen and keyboard. Its only real downside is its weight, and even this is not too great a flaw if the system is to be used as a desktop replacement.

Business expert. The Latitude E6520's high-end version lures with a premium Full HD screen, a Core i7 dual core, a graphics card and a fast HDD. Is the high additional cost a sensible investment? Is it the door into the business premium range?

Dell: Dell is a U.S. manufacturer (based in Texas) of computer hardware founded in 1984 and is one of the largest international manufacturers in terms of both market share and notebook models. Its product line includes desktops, notebooks, storage systems, monitors, servers, printers, consumer electronics and peripherals. Dell offers laptops that are suitable for various applications, such as business laptops, gaming laptops, ultra portables and workstations. Dell's business laptops from the Latitude and Precision series are an option for professional users and businesses.
In 2023, Dell had an approximate 17% market share of global PC sales, ranking #3 after Lenovo and HP.
For gaming enthusiasts, Dell's Alienware brand is for gaming notebooks.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
Intel HD Graphics 3000: Integrated graphics card in the Intel Sandy Bridge processors (Core ix-2xxx). The HD 3000 is the faster (internally GT2 called) version with 12 Execution Units (EUs).
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
NVIDIA NVS 4200M: Business Graphics card that is based on the GeForce GT 520M with special BIOS and drivers for business applications. The clock speeds however can in theory slightly surpass the GT 520M, in the Latitude 6420 however they are at a level of the GT 520M.

Intel Core i5:
2540M: Fast Dual-core processor clocked from 2.6 to 3.3 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.0) based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
2620M: Very fast Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
