Corsair Force Series GT now in 180GB/240GB capacities
The enthusiast-level Force Series GT SSDs from Corsair are now available in two additional capacities, 180GB and 240GB. These SATA 3 drives include the SandForce SF-2280 controller with read and write speeds of up to 555MB/sec and 525MB/sec, respectively. Interestingly enough, the write speeds for the two new capacities are rated slightly higher than the older 120GB, 90GB and 60GB capacities.
Each drive comes with a 3.5-inch adapter for desktop users and is backward compatible with SATA 2. Expect to pay a pretty penny though, as the 180GB and 240GB models will run for $379 and $489, respectively. The official Corsair listings of these drives can be seen here.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
