Asus to make the Google Nexus tablet?

Teaser
Google Nexus tablet might get produced by Asus which is also expected to be a 7inch tablet and will be made available at about the range of Kindle Fire

We all know that Google is planning to enter the Android tablet business. However it is still not clear if they will be on their own, or will be taking the help of some other tablet manufacturer to release their device. Their owning of the Motorola was also in the back of our mind but a recent rumor suggests that the ASUS will be the manufacturer of the $US199 Google branded tablet.

According to the rumor, the Google’s tablet which may also be called as the Nexus tablet will be a 7inch tablet which will be powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 processor which will mainly be in the market to take on Amazon’s Kindle Fire. This tablet is also expected to be running on Ice Cream Sandwich.

Although the Kindle Fire is another Android tablet in the market but Amazon’s closed store approach to Android cuts Google from the revenue part of the device. So releasing their own tablet for the same price will bring a real competition between the two companies.
