Asus announces 2023 Zenbook S13 OLED as world's thinnest and lightest 13.3-inch ultrabook with Intel Raptor Lake-U
The Zenbook S13 OLED ultrabook from Asus is receiving a spec update with Intel’s latest Raptor Lake-U CPUs. Along with the refreshed processing power, Asus is also introducing a slimmer chassis, making the 2023 Zenbook S13 OLED one of the thinnest and lightest Intel EVO-compliant ultrabooks to date. This year’s model is only 0.43 inches (1.09 cm) thick and weighs 2.2 lbs (0.99 kg) thanks to the new “plasma ceramic aluminum” eco-friendly alloy used for the lid.
Processor options include the i5-1335U and the i7-1355U with integrated Iris Xe graphics. These can be coupled with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5-6000 RAM, as well as up to 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage.
There is also a new OLED panel branded as “Lumina” that makes the chassis 30% slimmer than the 2022 model. Spec-wise, this is identical to last year’s 550 nit version with 2880 x 1800 resolution, Dolby Vision and True Black 500 plus 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Despite the slimmer profile, Asus still managed to include an FHD webcam with IR sensor for extended security.
Port selection offers 2x Thunderbolt 4 connectors, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI 2.1 video out and an audio jack. Wireless connectivity is provided over a Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.2 card. The battery is slightly smaller than the one on last year’s model at 63 Wh capacity.
This model can be ordered from Asus, Amazon and BestBuy starting at US$1,399.99.
