Reviews for the Asus Zenbook UX310UA-FC255T

The Asus ZenBook UX310UA is an excellent portable all-rounder. It has the design spark of a laptop worth showing off, matched with an amazing breadth of features and smart pragmatism that sees it pack in more, higher-quality tech than its rivals. This is as close to a perfect mid-price portable laptop as we’ve seen this year. Sure, there are parts that could be improved. The display sacrifices black level for peak brightness a little, there is some flexing of the shell under pressure, the trackpad surface isn’t as silky smooth as some and the speakers are just so-so. However, stack these up next to the list of strengths and the UX310UA is easy to recommend.

The Asus Zenbook UX310UA-FC255T is an all-round laptop for entertainment, business or creative work. Mobility, ease-of-use, reliability and performance in sleek premium design are the hallmarks of the ZenBook range. The Asus Zenbook UX310UA-FC255T is no exception. Powered by Intel's 6th-generation Core i5 processor and with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, it is certainly a machine packed with enough power for heavy usage. The chassis of the laptop is made from solid aluminium alloy. The laptop‘s design features a spun metal finish with a Zen-inspired concentric circle on the lid, while a tough and durable brushed metal finish adorns the rest of the chassis. It is barely larger than a DIN A4 page, just under 20 mm thin and weighs only 1.45 kg. The laptop measures at 323 x 223 x 18.35 mm. It has two colour options to be selected which are Quartz Grey or Rose Gold. Both the colors look great and give the laptop a more professional look.
For display, the laptop features a non-glare 13.3-inch Full-HD LED wide-screen display with a pixel density of 276 ppi. The display features an ultra-wide color gamut of 72% NTSC ,100% sRGB, and 74% AdobeRGB. Hence, it can display more accurate and vivid colours. Besides that, it also features wide viewing angle technology, which ensures that contrast and colour reproduction are not degraded up to 178° degrees. For a reasonably priced ultraportable laptop, its screen is surely a pleasant surprise. To further enhance the display, the ZenBook UX310 incorporates ASUS Splendid technology, which has four one-click preset modes: Normal mode, Eye Care mode, Vivid mode and Manual mode. Normal mode gives the factory-optimized settings, Eye Care mode reduces harmful blue light emissions by up to 30%, thus ensuring a more relaxed viewing experience. Vivid mode cleverly adjusts the display settings to give images a vibrant and vivid appearance, without making the colours look artificial. Manual mode gives control over the colour temperature setting.
Its keyboard are now much more solid compared to the previous UX series such as the UX305 and UX360. The Asus ZenBook UX310UA’s keys have a ‘scissor’ mechanism designed to make them a bit less wobbly-feeling. It is a very good keyboard with good travel distance. Besides that, it features a backlight now; something that was missing in the UX305. The trackpad on the other hand isn't as great as the keyboard. It tends to register false inputs at times and isn't as smooth as some of its competitors. However, it isn't a killer and is still very much usable. With the ASUS SonicMaster technology, the laptop delivers optimized audio quality on its two speakers. The ZenBook UX310UA is powered by 3 cells (48 Wh) / 65 W battery. For the operating system, it runs on Microsoft Windows 10 (64 bit). The laptop also has an HD Web Camera for convenience in video calls.
The Zenbook series has always been a great range of ultrabooks with premium look, well equipped hardware and a reasonable price. It is a pleasure to report that the UX310UA-FC255T retains all of these features. It is definitely a laptop to consider in the 13.3. inch category.
