Archos is introducing its new Platinum Range tablets

Archos will soon be releasing their Platinum Range of tablets. Their specs include quad core processors, 2GB RAM and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Archos’ new Platinum Range tablets will feature an aluminium-body design combined with high definition IPS displays, quad-core processors (with 8-core GPUs) and run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. There will be three tablets in the range: an 8 inch, a 9.7 inch and an 11.6 inch. Apart from their screen sizes, the only other specifications these 3 tablets don’t seem to share are their screen resolutions:

-The ARCHOS 80 Platinum will come with a 1024x768 resolution IPS screen.

-The ARCHOS 97 Platinum HD will come with a 2048x1536 resolution IPS screen.

-The ARCHOS 116 Platinum will come with a 1920x1080 resolution IPS screen.

The entire Platinum Range will share the following features:

  • High-Definition IPS display with capacitive multi-touch screen
  • QUAD core CPU at 1.2 GHz with 8-core GPU, with 1080p video decoding
  • 2 GB RAM
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • Full access to the 700,000 applications
  • Archos Media Center applications
  • Front and Back Cameras
  • Mini-HDMI and Micro SD ports

-The ARCHOS 80 Platinum will be available this month for €199 / $199 / £179

-The ARCHOS 97 Platinum HD will be available this month for €249 / $299 / £249

-While the ARCHOS 116 Platinum will be available in April for €349 / $349 / £299

There is however no mention of specific countries or regions of launch.

ARCHOS will be at CeBIT 2013 and they’ll be showing off their Platinum Range from the 5th to the 9th of March. The ARCHOS booth will be located in Halle 15 Stand D72.
